classification of glass: glass is widely used in decoration, from external wall windows to indoor screens, door leaves, etc. in this section, we will discuss this aspect. The simple classification of glass is mainly divided into flat glass and special glass. Flat glass is mainly divided into three types: lead-in method flat glass (including grooved/non grooved), flat drawing method flat glass and float glass. Due to the uniform thickness, flat and parallel upper and lower surfaces of float glass, coupled with high labor productivity and conducive to management, float glass is becoming the mainstream of glass manufacturing

there are many kinds of special glass, which are explained one by one according to the common varieties in decoration:

I. ordinary flat glass

1, 3-4 cm glass, mm is also called cm in daily life. By "3cm glass", we mean 3mm thick glass. This kind of glass is mainly used for the surface of picture frames

2, 5-6 cm glass is mainly used for small-area transparent modeling such as external wall windows and door leaves, etc.

3, 7-9 cm glass is mainly used for large-area but frame protected modeling such as indoor screens

4, 9-10 cm glass, which can be used for indoor large-area partition, railing and other decoration projects

5, 11--12 cm glass can be used in floor spring glass doors and some partitions with large flow of people

6, glass above 15 cm is generally sold less on the market and often needs to be ordered. It is mainly used for the whole glass wall of the outer wall of the ground spring glass door with a large area

II. Other glass

other glass is not the official classification of the industry when compared with flat glass. Mainly:

1, tempered glass. It is a kind of prestressed glass made of ordinary flat glass after reprocessing. Compared with ordinary flat glass, tempered glass has two characteristics:

1) the strength of the former is several times that of the latter, the tensile strength is more than 3 times that of the latter, and the impact resistance is more than 5 times that of the latter

2) toughened glass is not easy to break. Even if it is broken, it will break in the form of particles without acute angles, greatly reducing the harm to human body

2. Frosted glass. It is also ground and processed on the ordinary flat glass. Generally, the thickness is less than 9 cm, and more than 5 or 6 cm

3. Sandblasted glass. Basically, the performance is similar to that of frosted glass, and the different ones are changed from frosting to sandblasting. Because the two are visually similar, many owners and even decoration professionals confuse them

4. Embossed glass. It is a kind of flat glass made by calendering. Its biggest feature is translucent and opaque, which is mostly used in toilet and other decoration areas

5. Wired glass. It is a kind of impact resistant flat glass made of metal wire or metal mesh embedded in the glass plate by calendering method. When impacted, it will only form radial cracks without falling and hurting people. Therefore, it is mostly used in high-rise buildings and plants with strong vibration

6. Insulating glass. The two pieces of glass are usually kept at a certain distance by bonding method. Dry air is in the interval, and the surrounding is sealed with sealing materials. It is mainly used in decoration projects with sound insulation requirements

7. Laminated glass. Laminated glass is generally composed of two pieces of ordinary flat glass (also tempered glass or other special glass) and an organic adhesive layer between the glass. When it is damaged, the fragments still adhere to the adhesive layer, avoiding the damage to human body caused by debris splashing. It is mostly used in decoration projects with safety requirements

8. Bulletproof glass. In fact, it is a kind of laminated glass, but the glass formed is mostly tempered glass with high strength, and the number of interlayer is relatively large. It is mostly used in decoration projects with high safety requirements, such as banks or luxury houses

9. Hot bending glass. The curved glass is made by heating and softening the flat glass, forming it in the mold, and then annealing. In some advanced decoration, the frequency is higher and higher, which needs to be booked, and there is no stock

10. Glass brick. The manufacturing process of glass brick is basically the same as that of flat glass, except for the molding method. Between them is dry air. It is mostly used in decorative projects or transparent modeling with thermal insulation requirements

11. Cellophane. Also known as glass film, it has a variety of colors and decors. According to the different properties of paper film, it has different properties. Most of them have the functions of heat insulation, infrared ray protection, ultraviolet ray protection, explosion-proof, etc

III. precautions in glass construction and use

1. During transportation, attention must be paid to fixing and adding soft pads. It is generally recommended to transport vertically. The driving of the vehicle should also pay attention to maintaining stability and medium and slow speed

2. If the other side of the glass installation is closed, pay attention to cleaning the surface before installation. It is best to use a special glass cleaner, and it can be installed only after it is dry and confirmed that there is no stain. It is best to use clean construction gloves during installation

3. The installation of glass should be fixed with silicone sealant. In the installation of windows, it also needs to be used together with rubber sealing strips

4. After the construction is completed, attention should be paid to adding anti-collision warning signs, which can generally be prompted by non dry stickers, colored electrical tape, etc
